MoonTale Terms of Use
These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of MoonTale, a parent-controlled app for creating personalized bedtime stories for children. By using MoonTale, you agree to these Terms.
MoonTale is intended for use by parents and guardians. Children should use MoonTale only with permission and supervision from a parent or guardian.
1. The Service
MoonTale lets parents create child profiles, choose story settings, generate bedtime stories, create cloud voice audio, and save stories for replay. Some features require an account, story points, a subscription, or an internet connection.
2. Eligibility and Parental Responsibility
You must be old enough to enter into these Terms under the laws where you live. If you use MoonTale for a child, you represent that you are the child's parent, guardian, or an adult authorized to supervise the child's use of the app.
You are responsible for the child profile information and story settings you provide, for reviewing generated content before relying on it, and for supervising any child who listens to or reads stories in MoonTale.
3. Accounts and Sign in with Apple
Some MoonTale features require Sign in with Apple. You are responsible for maintaining access to your Apple account and device. MoonTale may use your account to save point balances, cloud story records, child profiles, purchase history, and subscription status.
4. Story Points, Subscriptions, and Purchases
MoonTale uses story points for cloud generation. Different story lengths or features may require different point amounts. Point amounts, grants, and product offerings may change over time.
Subscriptions and point packs are purchased through Apple's App Store. Apple handles payment processing, cancellations, refunds, and billing issues under Apple's terms and policies. If a purchase is refunded, reversed, revoked, or found to be invalid, MoonTale may remove or reverse related story points.
Unless required by law or handled by Apple, unused story points are not redeemable for cash and cannot be transferred to another user.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use MoonTale to create, request, store, or share content that:
- Is harmful, unsafe, abusive, hateful, sexually explicit, or exploitative.
- Targets or endangers children.
- Encourages dangerous behavior, self-harm, violence, or illegal activity.
- Infringes intellectual property, privacy, publicity, or other rights.
- Attempts to bypass safety systems, rate limits, point costs, payment checks, or access controls.
- Interferes with or disrupts MoonTale, servers, networks, or other users.
6. AI Generated Content
MoonTale uses automated systems to generate story text and cloud voice audio. Generated content may be imperfect, unexpected, or unsuitable in some situations. You are responsible for reviewing stories before using them with a child.
MoonTale is not medical, psychological, educational, or parenting advice. It is a storytelling tool for parent-guided bedtime routines.
7. Your Content
You are responsible for the information you provide, including child profile details, story settings, and any text you enter. You grant MoonTale permission to process that information as needed to provide the service, generate stories and audio, save records, and operate the app.
8. MoonTale Content and Intellectual Property
MoonTale, including its design, software, branding, characters, interface, and service technology, is protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, resell, or misuse MoonTale except as allowed by law or with written permission.
Subject to these Terms, you may use stories generated for your personal, non-commercial family use.
9. Privacy
Your use of MoonTale is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how information is collected, used, and shared. Please read the Privacy Policy before using MoonTale.
10. Changes to MoonTale
We may update, modify, suspend, or discontinue parts of MoonTale at any time. We may also change point costs, supported features, available voices, supported languages, or plan benefits. We will try to avoid unnecessary disruption, but we cannot guarantee that every feature will remain available forever.
11. Termination
We may suspend or terminate access to MoonTale if we believe you violated these Terms, used the service abusively, created safety risks, attempted fraud, or caused harm to the service or other users. You may stop using MoonTale at any time.
12. Disclaimers
MoonTale is provided "as is" and "as available." We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or always available. We do not guarantee that generated stories or audio will meet every expectation or be suitable for every child.
13. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, MoonTale and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, goodwill, or business opportunities arising from your use of the app.
14. Third-Party Services
MoonTale may rely on third-party services, including Apple services, cloud hosting, AI generation, voice generation, and payment-related infrastructure. Your use of those services may also be subject to their own terms and policies.
15. App Store Terms
If you downloaded MoonTale from Apple's App Store, your use of the app is also subject to Apple's applicable App Store and Apple Media Services terms. Apple is not responsible for MoonTale's content, support, or operation except as required by applicable law.
16. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date and may provide additional notice in the app or on this page. Continued use of MoonTale after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
